Thailand Trip Itinerary

A Thailand Trip That Balances Mountains and Coast

Ten days. Two completely different sides of Thailand. Misty mountain culture in the north, turquoise island waters in the south, and every transfer, guide, and flight connection handled before you land. Here's what it looks like when a trip to Thailand is done right.
Chiang Mai → Phuket

Trip at a Glance

Duration:

10 days

Best for:

Friends traveling together, mother/daughter trips, small groups wanting both culture and coast

Best season:

November through April for the driest, most comfortable weather

Pace:

Two extended stays, no rushed one-night stops

First Stop: Northern Thailand's Mountain Culture

The trip opens in Chiang Mai, a beautiful city tucked into the rural, mountainous countryside of Northern Thailand. Every airport arrival includes a meet and greet with an English-speaking guide, so there's no confusion navigating a foreign airport after a long flight.

The Stay: A boutique hotel on the city's trendiest street, blending modern design with traditional Lanna architecture, complete with a garden, a wine bar, and complimentary bicycles for exploring the neighborhood.

The Golden Triangle: A full-day private tour to the historic Golden Triangle, where three countries meet along the Mekong River, including stops in hill tribe villages to see a way of life still tied closely to the land.

The Culture: An opportunity to cook alongside a local family in a laid-back, hands-on setting, learning traditional northern Thai dishes rather than just watching a demonstration.

Antor tip: Domestic connections in Thailand can be tight. We build buffer time between every flight so a delay never turns into a missed transfer.

Then: Andaman Coast Beaches and Island Hopping

From the mountains, the trip flies south to Phuket, Thailand's largest island, known for its high-end seaside resorts, turquoise water, and a coastline that shifts from lively to quiet depending on which beach you choose.

The Stay:

A resort along a stretch of the island prized by locals for being lively without being loud, with white sand, calm turquoise water, and some of the best sunsets on the island.

Old Town:

A private walking tour through Phuket's historic old town, tasting local street food, watching traditional sweets being made, and stopping into a small local museum.

The Islands:

A full-day speedboat tour to a cluster of islands famous across the Andaman Coast, featuring jutting limestone cliffs, hidden beaches, and some of the clearest water in Southeast Asia.

A Return Stop Before Heading Home

The trip loops back through Chiang Mai for a final few nights before the journey home, giving travelers one more taste of the north's slower pace before the long flight back.

The Wind-Down: A return to the same boutique hotel base, familiar and comfortable, for a relaxed close to the trip.

The Flexibility: Open days built in for last-minute markets, temple visits, or simply resting before the trip home.

Antor tip: Every single leg of this trip, four flights and four ground transfers, was coordinated as one continuous itinerary. That's the kind of thing that's nearly impossible to book cleanly on your own.

This Could Be Your Thailand Trip Too

Every Thailand trip we plan looks different, this is just one version of what a mountains-and-coast itinerary can look like. The regions, the pacing, the number of travelers: all of it gets built around you.

We handle what makes a multi-region Thailand trip actually work: coordinating domestic flights, arranging airport meet-and-greets in unfamiliar cities, and having one team to call if a flight shifts or plans change mid-trip. You just show up and enjoy it.
